Inspired by Zumbi dos Palmares, Zambi is determined, courageous and driven by a deep sense of justice. He uses capoeira as his main form of combat, demonstrating not only physical skill, but also the resistance and cultural strength of black people. During his journey, Zambi joins other characters, such as Kawana, Abaé and Guari, forming a united group in defense of the island and its traditions.
What if Tropikalia was a game? This would be the cover, which shows very succinctly what the story is about. What genre do you imagine the game would be?
Zambi is the protagonist of Tropikália, a work of adventure and fantasy that takes place on a fantastic island inspired by Brazil. He is a former slave who managed to escape from captivity and is now fighting to free his homeland from foreign invaders who are exploiting its natural resources and decimating the island.
Kawana is a key character in the story of Tropikalia. Native to the island that gives the story its name, she is a brave, agile warrior and deeply connected with the traditions and nature of the land where she was born. With her archery skills, Kawana stands out as a fierce defender of the place. She is a character who represents the resistance of original peoples and the fight for the preservation of culture and the environment.
Abaé is a small but brave golden lion tamarin and a loyal companion of the Zambi group in Tropikália. Although he is a small creature, Abaé is agile, smart and full of energy, always ready to help his friends in any situation.
Guari is a puppy of Mapinguari, a legendary creature from Brazilian folklore, who accompanies Zambi and his group in Tropikália. Although he is a mythical creature feared by many, Guari is actually docile, loyal and extremely protective of his friends. He has the potential to release fireballs from his mouth in his belly, an ability he is still learning to control.
Continuing with the series of "What if Tropikalia was a game?" This would be a sequence of dialogues, just as they occur in RPGs in general. These scenes do not correspond to any chapter, they are just to exemplify what it would be like in a game.
Continuing with the series of "What if Tropikália was a game?", I imagined this screen as the game's loading screen. This character is Dandara and I plan on her appearing in the chapter after the next one I'm planning.
Another art from the series imagining Tropikalia as a game. In this art it would be the gameplay, a Beat 'em up game where Zambi beats up the colonizers. As I love games and retro things in general, old games were one of my inspirations for this piece.
This is the reward for project supporters, being transformed into a character and being part of this tropical composition! I will soon open this option for the international campaign on Patreon.
